Ozark snow is not as heavy as anticipated. The kind folks in Texas got part of the energy of the storm, in the form of thunderstorms. So, we should fend well in most of Missouri.
Our Ozarks neighbors have taken the blunt of the storm. The governor of Arkansas has declared an emergency for the state. So, our hearts and prayers go out to the people of Arkansas. The ice and sleet have been a bigger issue there.
Hang in there people of the Ozarks! It won’t be long til Spring.

It has been a different winter in the Ozarks, as compared to the last couple of years. The weather has gotten very cold, with almost record setting cold in early January, 2010. Now, the Ozarks prepares for snow, ice, and a mix. As I write today, I am listing to the winter weather warning on the NOAA radio.
We could end up with 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of ice, then snow on top of that. Springfield, MO will, most likely get snow. At least the snow will be good for the gardens this Spring. Here is a link to our favorite weather station. WEATHER REPORT
